Yoga will help de-stress your staff:

With mental ill health now the leading cause for illness and the stress of an unmanageable workload cited as the main reason for time off work, stress has a lot to answer for. Luckily, yoga has been proven to reduce the secretion of ‘cortisol’ aka the stress hormone, and multiple studies have shown that a course of yoga classes can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Yoga will help you sleep:

Sleep deprivation is arguably an epidemic of our times, with 1/3 of Brits getting by on less than 6 hours sleep a night – leading to low mood, lost productivity and a heightened risk of obesity, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and heart problems.

Studies have found people who practice yoga fall asleep faster, sleep for longer and feel better rested in the morning than those who don’t practice. What’s more, yoga is found to increase the production of melatonin – a hormone necessary for regulating your sleep cycle.

Corporate Yoga classes help attract and retain talent

Attracting and retaining the next generation of top talent requires more than just a job role.  Offering yoga classes and a wellness programme not only shows your company is on trend, but it’s the perfect way to show your potential and current employees you value them – by valuing what they value.

It’s super simple to set up:

All you need is an available space, such as a boardroom or meeting room. Simply decide when you’d like your class, be it before, during or after work hours.

Yoga is for everyone:

Due to the increase in the working age population, there has never been a wider range of ages working under one roof. Employees now range from grads right up to the almost retired. Luckily, a work yoga class will appeal to each and every one of them. I teach inclusive and accessible yoga that appeals to all abilities, offering more challenging and slightly easier, allowing the students to pick their own pace, whatever their age or ability.

Yoga in Schools…

Overwhelmingly, research shows that children who practice yoga-based movement, conscious breathing, and mindfulness activities are better able to regulate their emotions, manage stress and calm themselves. They may also choose better foods to eat and engage in more physical activity than children who do not. The studies also illustrate that centered, calm and focused children learn more easily, have better social skills and, in general, are much happier kids.

Recent scientific reviews highlight the following effects of yoga on children:

  • Improve attention and emotional control
  • Help manage chronic illness
  • Improve prefrontal cortex function, including the ability to plan and execute complex functions
  • Influence neurotransmitter function
  • Improve strength and flexibility of muscles while increasing circulation, uptake of oxygen, and functioning of hormones
  • Parasympathetic nervous system may become more dominant and stabilize the autonomic nervous system to enhance resistance to the effects of stress.

Yoga …

  • Addresses stress and anxiety by treating the body and mind
  • Places emphasis on individual abilities rather than competition
  • Provides non-threatening and gentle method to increase physical fitness and enhance health and well-being.

”Emotional intelligence, social competency, adaptable coping strategies, compassionate and positive attitudes, ability to focus – all these skills are cultivated by the consistent and supportive practice of yoga and mindfulness techniques, made developmentally appropriate for use with children of various ages. It is motivating to see the scientific community investigate these skills and programs and help move the research and implementation efforts forward for a healthier and happier generation.”
